"Música para Manuel" (マニュエルに捧げる音楽) is dedicated to Manuel Mellado, my grandfather who lost his father and mother being a child and was, and still is, a very important presence in my life.
A quiet consolation.
This album was recorded with piano, tape-loops, music box and Sony TCM-200DV recorder.
I released 50 cassette-tapes -only- for the concerts in Tokyo and Kyoto during the Japanese Tour ~ 花見 2014.

Phasen is a surprising album in its abrupt construction.
Separated by sudden transitions, the tracks generally evoke a light sadness, just enough to create a scattered fog in our field of hearing. This feeling is supported by the aerial sound processing applied to this release.
Sensitive and subtle, skimming the experimental and noise fields from strong ambient roots, René Margraff created a work alike a morning haze : a mysterious ghost hiding treasures of beauty if you pay enough attention. Dotflac

Who would have imagined Federico Durand as an appearance here (Third Dream)? The collaboration is enchanting.
Federico has a way with abstract but deceptively simple, nearly melodic single note patterns. That combined with Stephan’s multilayered drones…it just works at every level. Richard Erickson
